Need towing in Delano or Riverside right now? Call Miller’s Towing & Recovery at 316-351-4754. Give the dispatcher the nearest corner, like Douglas and Seneca or Nims and Murdock, what you drive, and where the car needs to go. You get the price before we hook up.
These two neighborhoods sit just west of downtown, across the Arkansas River. They are some of the oldest parts of Wichita, and they draw crowds for ball games, museums and the parks. This page covers what that means when you need a tow.

The Two Neighborhoods at a Glance
- Delano runs from the Arkansas River on the north and east to Kellogg on the south and Meridian on the west. Douglas is the main east and west street, and Seneca is the main north and south street. Friends University, Equity Bank Park, Exploration Place and the Wichita Ice Center are all here.
- Riverside sits between the Arkansas and Little Arkansas rivers, south of 13th Street. Nims is the main street through it. The Wichita Art Museum, Botanica, Old Cowtown Museum, the Keeper of the Plains and the Sim Park golf course are in or next to it.
McLean Boulevard follows the river bank and ties the two together.
6 Things to Know About Towing in Delano and Riverside
1. Give a corner, not just a street
Douglas runs the full width of Delano, and “I’m on Douglas” could mean a dozen blocks. Name the cross street or the business you are in front of. In Riverside, the streets curve with the river, so a landmark helps: the art museum lot, the Botanica entrance or the golf course clubhouse.
2. Game nights change everything
Equity Bank Park is home to the Wichita Wind Surge. On game nights and during big events, streets around the ballpark fill up and traffic on Maple, Sycamore and McLean slows down. Tell dispatch if you are inside the event traffic. It helps the driver pick the best way in.
Parking near the ballpark is still changing. KWCH reported in October 2025 that a 400 space parking garage was under construction on the west side of the park, along South Sycamore Street between Burton and Texas.
3. Private lots near the ballpark are posted for a reason
Many businesses along Douglas have small lots for their own customers. On a busy night it is tempting to grab one. Read the sign first. The City of Wichita says a private property owner may call a tow company when the lot is properly marked, and the vehicle owner pays for the tow. The city explains this on its parking laws page.
If you came back and your car was gone, start with how to find your towed car in Wichita. The rules for private lots are the same ones that apply when an apartment complex tows a car.
4. Older streets need the right truck
Both neighborhoods were built long before big pickups and SUVs. Expect street parking, alleys, low tree limbs and narrow driveways. Tell us where the car sits and which way it faces. A car nosed into a tight garage may need a winch and skates to bring it out before it can be loaded.
5. Kellogg and McLean need extra care
Kellogg runs along the south edge of Delano, and its ramps carry fast traffic. If you break down on Kellogg or on a ramp, stay buckled in with your hazard lights on and call 911 if you are blocking a lane. Kansas drivers must move over or slow down for any stopped vehicle with flashing lights. KAKE covered that change to the Move Over law in 2025.
6. Do not leave it on the street for days
Wichita limits street parking to 48 hours in one spot. A dead car on a Riverside street can be tagged and towed by the city if it sits past that. Moving it to your driveway or a shop is cheaper than an impound.
Common Calls West of the River
Most towing in Delano and Riverside falls into a few kinds of calls.
| Where | What happens | What usually fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| Douglas Avenue shops and restaurants | Dead battery or keys locked in the car | Jump start or lockout service |
| Equity Bank Park on a game night | Car will not start after the game, or lost keys | Jump start, or a tow home |
| Friends University | Student car that will not start | Jump start, or a tow to a shop |
| Museums, Botanica and the parks | Dead battery after a long visit | Jump start on the spot |
| Riverside and Delano driveways | Project car or a car that has not run in years | Flatbed with a winch |
| Kellogg ramps along the south edge of Delano | Stall or crash in traffic | Flatbed or wheel lift tow |
A dead battery is often fixed without a tow. See our jump start service. If you lost your keys at the game, read how a car is towed without keys.

Where the Car Goes Next
You choose. Most cars from this part of town go to one of three places:
- A repair shop. Many shops are a short trip away on West Street. See towing on West Street for how shop drop offs and key drops work.
- Home. A driveway tow is often the shortest and cheapest trip.
- Our yard. We can hold the car at 4309 S Broadway while you decide. Ask about storage charges first.
What to Tell Us When You Call
- The nearest corner or landmark
- Year, make and model
- What is wrong: will not start, flat tire, crash, no keys
- If the car is all wheel drive
- If it is on the street, in a lot, in a driveway or in a garage
- Where it is going
Questions About Towing in Delano and Riverside
How fast can a truck get to Delano?
It depends on traffic, weather, event crowds and how many calls are ahead of yours. We give you an honest ETA when you call, and the driver calls or texts when close.
How much does towing in Delano cost?
The price has a hook up fee and a per mile rate, plus any charge for nights or special equipment. Trips from here to a west side shop are short, which keeps mileage low. Call for the total before the truck is sent.
My car was towed during a game. Who has it?
Look for a sign at the lot with the tow company’s name. If there is none, the city’s lookup tool and the police records line can help. Our towed car guide has both.
Can you get a car out of a tight Riverside garage?
In most cases, yes. We use a winch and skates to bring it out to where the flatbed can load it. Send a photo of the space if you can.
Do you cover the rest of the west side?
Yes. See our local towing page for the full service area.
